It was about a closed beta there for 2014. Also in China AA will be F2P, and probably playable from the west too (any can register an account there)... but thats still far away.

For Americans too. If I can create an account for the Chinese beta, I most certainly will. May is not that far off. Don't even mind the Chinese characters. It will be a fun mini game figuring everything out.

Chinese beta

Just to make some things clearer, and the time schedule:
  • Chinese AA will be F2P, most likely with no restriction to registering accounts.
  • The release is dated for 2014, so before that going to be an OBT, and before that CBT, my guess is that the CBT is going to be aprox 6 months before the release, which would be summer 2013 (as soonest).
  • There is a ranking system on Tescent (AA China publisher), and by which probably none from the west will be chosen for the CBT. So the soonest to join AA in China would be the OBT, which should be around Q4 2013 (again saying, the soonest, likely to start even later then that).
  • So don't expect that you will be playing ArcheAge soon.

Umm no, there has been quite low amount of foreigners in the game. If you look for aa vids you wont see the Korean vids.

Can anyone explain what "early character creation" is? Are they trying to reduce the load on servers on open beta launch or what?
