E3 2013 is just around the corner and Trion Worlds will be there. They have a bunch of games they could bring, but we think it's likely they'll use the event to showcase ArcheAge. If ArcheAge is at E3, it might get some coverage from broad-spectrum gaming sites like IGN or Polygon. Those kind of sites have tons of other products to cover at E3 as well, so they're on tight schedules and don't have the time to really pay attention to details. As a result, the articles you'll find on those sites about games like ArcheAge (if Trion does bring it to E3) will probably be pretty generic. The exceptional coverage will be from sites like Massively, MMORPG.com, or...ArcheAgeSource.com?
That's right, we're going to E3! I've got my ticket and hotel room reserved, but it's not cheap to spend a week in LA and I'm nowhere close to being independently wealthy. I'm going to E3 basically to see if Trion's progress on ArcheAge. If it's there, all the travel expenses will be worth it. We'll be able to provide you fans with whatever Trion allows us to upload (sometimes PR departments set embargoes on certain types of content). I'm talking about screenshots and videos, livestreams from my phone (if it can get a reliable connection), audio interviews or podcasts and written impressions.
The cost of gaining entrance to E3 for non-press and unverified trade members is around $800. The cost of the cheapest hotel I could find within walking distance of the convention center in LA was about $100 a night for four nights (plus taxes of about $90). The cost of a round trip plane ticket from JAX to LAX is about $500 as well. I'm looking at a travel expenses of about $2000 to make this trip.
If you would like help ArcheAgeSource.com get to E3, we're accepting donations. Donators will receive recognition on the forums (custom title, within limitations) if they want it or they can remain anonymous. For details, send a private message to me or email admin (at) archeage-online.com.
Thanks for your time and I hope to see you at PAX Prime (for sure) and Gamescom (maybe) this year as well!
