Speaking of balance and korean games/aion..
So this was posted and it's way interesting:
Korean Aion server abyss balance: http://aion.plaync.c...byss?serverID=0 (it will take awhile to load please give it time)
NA Aion server abyss balance: http://na.aiononline...vestatus/abyss/
People have made a strong case to suggest east culture respects factions better and understands it needs to battle it, but also support it, to have a functioning game (versus the western total domination mentality per server which is ruining the game's balance and fun factor).
What do you guys think?
Oh and @gift - I didn't think you were targeting me and you make a great point, I was really sleepy (it was late..or early.. haha) so I just typed really briefly lol sorry ; D i'll include some happy tongue faces next time ;P!

Wow! So basicly it's the players that make the game suck. (not being sarcastic for once
) I still play Aion and have since closed beta. I started on Lumiel and have been moved to Israephel or however you spell it. This is kind of scarry...so...would there even be a way to save the players from themselves in a case like this?

An IQ test? :P
The way most places try to "save" players is to give them options, like PvE and PvP servers. That wasn't a reality for Aion, though, since taking away the PvP would have crippled the game. It's a reality for TERA because En Masse has requested it (I don't think there will be alternate Korean servers, though I may be wrong).

bro... you know imma dumbass with computers. gonna give me a walkthrough on how to do that? and will it work with my existing launcher? and what about the lag?
Download Korean version, install it (it'll install the Korean PlayNC launcher, not overwrite your existing one), copy the files from the NA Aion client's L10N folder to the Korean version (same spot, same name, shouldn't overwrite anything), start up Korean Aion, enjoy English UI.

@ the comments about Tera:
No, as of the last comment on the subject from enMasse, the split servers are specifically for the western audience. The korean servers don't support open pvp at all.
My views on open pvp.
I won't play an MMO without it as an option. Open pvp is what makes the world dangerous, and therefore exciting. As long as you aren't losing EVERYTHING from a group of gankers it's not that big a deal. For instance, Darkfall Online is full loot, but loot is easy to come by and easy to store in your bank. Therefore when you die, you hit the bank and head back out. No XP loss, no death penalty. If you get attacked near your factional city the automated towers will help you out (though they may not save you).
IMO a great base for a system. It's certainly not perfect, and can be tricked into thinking 1 party attacked another when it didn't , but there are far worse systems. Song probably didn't elaborate because they don't have a pvp system set in stone yet. But with his experience and the feature set of the game I can't imagine that it will be overlooked completely.
There will probably be some sort of criminal/paragon type system. Maybe something a little more in depth than just 'going red' for 1/2 hr.
