Whatever they will do with achievements, I hope it is not going to be like SWTOR. That game is a joke in many aspects, including achievements.

No achievements at all. That should fix it.

That is not really constructive. Your way or the highway? It doesn't really work that way, you know...

I think that achievements have never been implemented correctly since they've made their appearance. I truly believe RPG's have the chance of incorporating achievements in a smarter way within the game. Simply having a list of achievements in a dialog window doesn't cut it for me and feels very out of place.

I want it to be an element of surprise, special recognition of deeds that truly make your character unique in his own way. There's nothing fulfilling about being the 10th thousand person to have completed 100 quests. If they can't figure it out, I'd prefer seeing very hard achievements that make certain individual stand out.

Much more constructive than wasting time and ressources in a feature that noone will care about after few weeks, except one or 2 persons. Especially if it has the potential of ruining community aspects or have the few people who use it whine on forums.

Would rather seem them use that time on adding more mechanics that enhance community relations like the "facebook" they have ongoing.

To conclude, there isn't any achievement system in game.

I think the biggest mistake of achievements in current game is that they are done very dull way. Aka kill x amount of people using this weapon, kill xx number of mob of this type in this area.... etc. That is very stupid dull, and you have those people " I'm going for achievements now", like it means something or such. Achievements are now being used as a tool to prolong the game-time of short and crappy games.

I'm again achievements in this from in AA, it would harm the game and the immersion.

I will be fine with it if they make it smart way. For example (Ill borrow your names guys). On last siege, Amaterasu killed 20 people and not died even once... thus Amaterasu is now carrying something like a "killing spree" achievement. And the first one who kills him/her will get "hero-breaker" achievement.

The same time ho-ever, on other side of the continent, Zil was having his time with poor innocent people, currently slain dozen of people, being on PK rage for days, moving trough forests like cold shadow.... - he has an achievement for that (something like.... "Sephiroth's Ragnarok" or.... uuh whatever. And in towns there should be boards where people will see who is carrying such a title now... and they need to be rewarded for doing something with it. The system must bring more live to the game, encourage more interaction.

And now, if the heroic Amaterasu becomes the one to slain the rampaging Zil.... he will get "Patriot" achievement... etc.

I hope I made myself understandable and clear.... because such a system would be amazing.

I love how these days everyone seems to need a prize for doing anything in order to feel like it's worth doing. It's depressing.
