I really enjoy running into fellow Canadians, any on this forum? So anyways, where are you from?

The idea of an open ended game excites me, my favorite game of all time being Morrowind, I always wished MMOs were less about leveling and more about everything else, immersion into exploration, nature, beauty, crafting and actual lifestyle choices. If that's what a sandbox experience is, I'm willing to give it a try.

I think this game has a bit for everyone, PvE to PvP and the entire ship buliding and naval aspects brings another kind of dimension. The race to a continent of origins has an almost Civlization (the game) appeal to me.

In particular the races and class customization seems deep to me, and the sense that the map will truly be a land worth exploring.

What do you think has to be tweaked the most in this game, for it to truly become an international success and not just another game with a lot of hype?
The Elves had a prophecy about the expedition to the land of origins, which they termed "Ishtari".

Hey there! Sorry I'm not a Canadian, but I'm from the US so a neighbor!

I'm glad to hear you're going to give sandbox a try, the alternative to leveling to top level in two days, gear being everything and skill nothing, crappy bg pvp, no in-game economy, and quest grinding!

Its the first time I've seen a lot of converts. Not just themepark to sandbox, but from accepting half made games with no effort put into them and no features, to demanding full fledged games with many options and opportunities for socializing and creating your own content.

Personally I think it has been designed, for the most part, with the west in mind. Honestly I think if they advertise well and in plenty the features of the game will sell itself. They just need a good marketing team to use tv, facebook, billboards, buses, and other creative things. The tv show A Game of Thrones based off the A Song of Ice and Fire novels had manned carriages giving people rides around NYC and advertised on the sides. Be creative!

I think after all the WoW people jumped to swtor only to realize its the same game in disguise are starting to realize they want sometging different; high quality, polished, more depth, more end game, and more creative.

Certainly cold and snowy enough most years to qualify.

Mind you, this winter hardly qualifies as winter up here in Canada. Has been mild in Minni as well?

Just don't get sick in Quebec, the health-care in this particular province (state) is quite unfortunate. Where are you abouts?

Ridiculously warm. Coldest weeks of the year and we have been having highs in the mid 40's Fahrenheit, more than 20 degrees above normal. A couple days this last week we didn't go below freezing at night. (norm for this time of year High 20, low 6)
No snow on the ground, only had 7 inches total since the start of Winter.

They are actually worried about the trees and plants budding and sprouting early then we get a normal weather snap and freeze them. :(

Yeah and some weird cold front in Europe causing people to freeze in their homes? It's just bizarre.

The weather is a way bizarre in Europe now. I mean the whole winter, because there was no winter. No snow, no freezing temperatures, just right now in February (3 months late) those freezing temperatures came, but it appears that its just some cold wind from Siberia, so no snow. Yes there is some but I'm used to tons of snow these days. Some homeless people did freeze yes, it is a sad thing, they are always offered shelter but they actually escape or directly refuse it on their own....

I'm in Minnesota too. I'm southern Minnesota about an hour southeast of Minneapolis, in Mankato. It's been so warm! We've hardly had any snow at all. It's snowed quite a bit but it doesn't stick.

I'm from Canada as well, off at the pacific though and it's certainly not been a very cold winter, at all! Quite depressingly warm, in fact, given that it doesn't usually get very cold at the coast anyway--minus the few days when it gets windy. Really, really windy. Like, lifting things off the ground and tearing signs in half in random, freak wind storms that vanish as quickly as they come, leaving behind only a biting, snowless chill right down to your bone.

ArcheAge is definitely exciting me, though. Probably dually from it's--so far inspiring--features as much as from the nostalgia and wonder that was had at the hands of the years of pre-release Darkfall... except ArcheAge is, admittedly, much, much more aesthetically pleasing, and so far has a much more ... vibrant ... community! I and the l'il online circles I reside are so psyched for it, hehe :D.

Yes the run up to Darkfall was a good one, and even into the start of the beta and early game.
I for one am looking forward to watching this community grow with the pre-game entertainment.

Ahhh, Darkfall's beta was so very, very entertaining. There's factors -- community, foremost, if not singularly -- that simply make or break the entire gaming experience in sandbox games, and no amount of pretty features can perturb that fact. Indeed, the growth of this community and its little cells and sub-circles of smaller communities shall be quite delicious xD!

Sweet! We can build our own little cult of AA fans! :D
People, too dumb to move to a state with real weather, but more than smart enough to stay indoors and play the good games! LOL

Nice translations Wanderer, more fuel to fan the flames of AA fanaticism.
