So far i havent been able to find infos regarding the ways items can be improved, modified, im referring to item enchanting, socketing... in AA.
And created this topic to learn more about the ways items can be improved.

For example this is an item from Runes of Magic, i have chosen an item from this game, because it has the most options to improve a piece of weapon/armor, i will go in order to explain them:

1. Rarity the color defines the rarity type, it goes from the most common white->green->blue->purple->orange->brown to the most rare, and it has effect on the weapons damage or if its an armor type then on Physical/Magical Defense.
2. Refining level with jewels its possible to + an item, atm the max refining level is +16, with a very high chance to fail the +ing. It rises the weapons damage, armors Pdef/Mdef, and the ghost stat of the item (in this case its the +208.8 Dexterity bonus)
3. Tier level this rises the weapons damage, armors Pdef/Mdef, and the fixed stat on the item (in this case its the +2032.8 Physical Attack), the cost to increase tiering lvl rising exponentially.
4. Durability defines how much percentage of the attributes you will get: if dura is 0-80 then -20% overall attributes, 81-100 then 100%, if dura 101+ then 120% more attributes.
5. Stats 6 stats can be added to one item, by ur choice.
6. Runes its possible to add up to 4 rune slots, or sockets to items, and put 4 runes of ur choice, they have a Tier level too from 1-10, and rarity too.

So if u havent played RoM yet, u can see how complicated is to make gear, and whats the cost of it to make 17x items.

People who are in CB in AA, please share what are the options here with weapons and armors, and the ways to improve our precious things :)
Read about item rarity and +ing so far, but very little.

Gear is rare, and it's rare at the basic level. The monsters don't drop gear that often at all. You will mostly be crafting your stuff, which is better than monster whites and greens (if you ever drop one).

Also gear in Archeage has no level requirements, you can wear whatever you want whenever you want to. But, it breaks rather fast and costs a lot to repair it. Also it takes a good while to get enough materials together (solo) to craft an item, specifically weapons.

You can improve your gear, but you can only have one improvement on each piece, if you try to improve it again it will just overwrite the old one. I don't believe I've seen any other ways to improve your gear, maybe Entaro or Amaterasu or someone else who played longer can shed some light there.

Not entirely sure what to point out but feel free to ask some questions and I'm sure someone will chip in and answer them.
Let's all pretend there's something really important written here...

I'm writing a pretty detailed review that'll be up in a few days that'll cover all this.

Thx Entaro, that will be awesome.

By Eligor's reply, this gear dropping system reminded me of Rappelz, where we had to grind for like 10h+ for an item to drop.
